Expectant mothers are encouraged to first discuss their options for prenatal services with their family physician.
For prenatal care in Medicine Hat:
- If you have a family doctor: your family physician or a nurse practitioner can refer your low-risk pregnancy to Badlands Medical Clinic at (587) 289-0600.
- Family physician referrals should be done prior to 20 weeks with the minimal prenatal bloodwork (either completed or submitted) and an anatomy scan (18-20 week ultrasound).
- Any family physician referral submitted after 24 weeks will be declined unless previous arrangement have been made directly between referring physician and Badlands.
- If you do not have a family doctor: you can self-refer to Badlands Medical Clinic: (587) 289-0600.
- As you and your baby will need a family physician after delivery, we encourage you to click on “Need a Family Doctor? Click here.” Please contact them prior to delivery to ensure that hospital records can be sent to your family doctor.
