Good Samaritan Society - Medicine Hat

The Good Samaritan Society at South Ridge Village offers seniors multiple levels of support and the opportunity to age in place with 70 private continuing care suites and three 10-bed dementia care cottages. 

Admissions are coordinated by the Alberta Health Services Placement Coordinator in Medicine Hat, 403-528-8000

The Supportive Living program consists of 42 suites and provides accommodation and personal care services to residents in private suites.

Strathcona Centre City of Medicine Hat Senior Services

​Services are currently being offered out of the Strathcona Centre - 1150 5th Street SE.

Strathcona Centre is a vibrant community offering social networks, services and support to people 50-plus in Medicine Hat. Strathcona Centre is a "home away from home" for its 1200+ members. People come to Strathcona Centre to meet with friends, eat great home-cooked meals, volunteer, and take part in our diverse activities. Above all, they come to have fun!

Members of the Medicine Hat Senior Services can access Supportive Counselling Services for a FREE telephone or in-person consultation with Medicine Hat Family Service professionals on stress management, family issues or health and age-related losses. Call 403-504-8026 (MH Family Services) for an appointment. The next Supportive Counselling Services day will be Wednesday, June 13 from 9:00am-12:00pm.

Wellness Wednesday Presentation - Navigating the System

Wednesday, June 20 at 10:00am

Learn how to access the system to have an assessment done for you or your loved one to move to Supportive Living or Long Term Care. What do the different levels mean? How can you choose a facility that is right for you or your loved one? What are the rules around TLOs (temporary living options)? What happens once you or your loved one is accepted to your chosen facility?

Meals for Men - by Meadowlands: Are you a gentleman who lives alone? If so, you are invited to a special event on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm at Meadowlands. Attendees will make a meal to enjoy together and 4 more to take home. Cost is $10 - to register call 403-529-8368.
